She's Walking!

After months of physical therapy, Megyn is finally walking! She has been taking a few steps here and there, but tonight she really took off. This is a huge milestone for us and her. She has worked really hard and we are so proud of her!

Finally!!!

We finally decorated our tree last night. I usually like to have it up the day after Thanksgiving (never before that), but not this year. I think we actually put the tree up last Tuesday, but I spent about one day "shaping" it and trying to get all the lights to work. A prelit tree is nice, but this one has a lot of plugs. Anyway, it sat there for a couple of days undecorated and it was driving Rece crazy. I wanted to wait until we were all home to decorate it and that didn't happen until Sunday after church. It didn't take long for the boys to hang all the ornaments. I have for the most part left everything they did "as is", except for the ornaments that are low enough for Megyn to reach. We had to move those to higher ground. They did a great job!

A Very Good Month

So November was a very good month for us. After a very long ordeal that started almost nine months ago, Megyn is finally no longer wearing a helmet. We thought it would never end. Yea! So we have gone from this...

to this!

Helmet or no helmet we think she is gorgeous and we are so blessed to have this sweet little girl in our family.

Rece lost the first of his two front teeth. It was getting pretty loose, so one night Ryan just popped it out with a piece of dental floss. It makes me cringe just thinking about it, but Rece thought it was great and was excited for a visit from the tooth fairy. The price of a tooth has definitely gone up since I lost my baby teeth.

Last, but not least...Zach! We finally got him enrolled in a preschool gym class. I don't have any pictures yet, because I keep forgetting to take my camera so those will be forthcoming. But he loves going to gym. It's a really small class so they got lots of individual attention which is great for him, and it's a great way to use up a small bit of all that endless energy! I thought this was such a cute picture. He loves these vampire teeth he got at Halloween.

He has the best sense of humor and such a great laugh. He asked me one night to take a picture of him and his best friends, so here it is. Three good looking guys!

It's Been Awhile

I haven't posted forever! We were having some "difficulties" with our computer. First, a virus. Then e-mail was all messed up. Finally, something to do with the http was not working. Obviously I don't speak computer. All I know is I was unable to post, comment, or even sign on to our blog. Very frustrating. But fortunately for me I am married to a computer nerd and he got everything up and running again. What a sweetie!

Not too scary!

Here are our little trick or treaters. That's Rece behind the mask and Zach had to be Anakin. He has been wearing that costume every day since about May. Sometimes he even sleeps in it. The boys really wanted to dress Megyn up as Yoda. But I love this Eeyore costume. Too cute. Rece got to wear his costume to school the day before for the parade and Halloween party. They had lots of fun trick or treating at our ward's Trunk or Treat. It was a fun day that we were able to share with our families.

Let it Snow!

Rece and Zach were very excited when it started to snow the other day and immediately wanted to go out and "play in the snow". So I got them all bundled up and out they went. It didn't last long. The snow was so wet that they were soaked and freezing within minutes, but at least they had lots of fun!

Megyn is so funny!!!

Megyn is at a really fun age. I actually say that about every age, but there is always something to love! Anyway, last night Ryan was playing with Megyn and he stood her up against a wall in our living room. She can pull herself up to things but she is not standing independently so she thought she was really neat standing there. I got out my camera and just started taking pictures. In every one she was pulling a different face. When I showed Ryan, he started laughing and said that she looks like she has a mullet. Poor Meg. Very unfortunate hair right now. It is really long and curly in the back, but not much up front. That's okay, we all think she is beautiful no matter what!

Go Cougars!

Tis the season...for college football! I really don't get that excited about it, although I do really like to watch the championship games (that's the only one that really matters...right?), but Ryan really enjoys it. Especially BYU football. The boys like to watch games with him, and Rece is looking forward to going to a game with him in a few weeks. Ryan took him for the first time last year and he had a lot of fun. In a few years we will all be going.

I really want my kids to have good childhood memories of fun things that we did together as a family. So on Labor Day, we decided to to take them to hike Cress Creek up near Heise. Before we left, the boys kept asking me where we were going. In an effort to make it sound adventurous and cool, I told them that we were going to climb a mountain. The response I got was not what I expected. Rece just looked shocked and at a loss for words. Zach's response was classic. He said, "A mountain! I can't climb a mountain! I scared of heights!" Next time I will know better. Anyway, we still went and had a lot of fun. We carried Megyn in the Snugli and she was happy the entire time. We didn't see any of the rattlesnakes that the signs warned about as we started our hike, but we did see a couple of "kinda" cute little lizards. Rece was sure that it was the same lizard that we kept seeing. It was a perfect day, and a great memory.

Garon & Kati's Wedding

Garon and Kati got married on September 13th. It was a beautiful wedding. They asked Rece to be their ringbearer, and he looked very grownup and handsome in his little tuxedo. Zach thought it was pretty funny that he held a girl's hand (Lainee, the flowergirl, and Rece walked down the aisle together). Ryan and I had a good laugh out of that. Rece not so much. Quite a bit of family from both sides made the trip to Oregon which I thought was really nice, and I am sure it meant a lot to Garon too. I am so excited to have a new sister-in-law! Even more, I am really happy that Garon found his sweetheart. Here are some pictures I took at the wedding. I think there might be a couple from the day before at the wedding rehearsal. I am not a great photographer, but I think some of these turned out pretty good.

Okay. Here we go. I never thought I would ever have a blog. But then my friend Jaimee was talking about her blog, and I decided to look at hers, and then I looked at other blogs of friends that she had listed. I decided that this might just be the thing for me right now. Kind of like keeping a journal, I think. Anyway, I am going to give it a try. I have been "disconnected" for quite some time and figuring everything out is taking me some time, but I am definitely doing this just for me. So like I said . . . here we go.
