This is it!

I just had to post a few last summer pictures.

Rece's first fish! I can't believe I didn't post this earlier. When Garon comes home, they have to go fishing. Rece is the only one who caught a fish this day (not bragging).

This is the 4th of July party at my parent's house. Meg with my dad. Something funny to add: she has started calling my dad by his first name.

Ryan and Rece played a lot of catch this summer.

We all slept out on the tramp one last time. I will admit, I didn't make it through the night. I went in at about 12:30 and slept really well thank you very much! The kids loved it! Goodbye summer! We will miss you!

La-La-Lagoon!

About a week before school started we went to Utah to go school shopping and take the kids to Lagoon. We had so much fun. My sister-in-law Jill met us at Lagoon, and we spent the whole day there. It was nice because Megyn was old enough to go on all of the kiddie rides, and Rece was tall enough to go on the big rides. He was absolutely fearless. He rode everything over and over again! Ryan was happy, because there are a lot of the rides that I don't have the stomach for anymore, so he always had someone to ride with. Again...lots of pictures! There probably would have been more, but the batteries in my lousy camera died.

This one was actually one of my favorite rides. I like the rides where you get wet. Fun!

This isn't a very good picture, but we were all laughing at the size of this corn dog. Zach was in hot dog heaven! He ate the whole thing!

This is the special treat we got when it was time to leave. Zach didn't want to. We had to keep in mind that it was waaaayyyy past his bedtime, and he had no nap that day. We decided to make this our annual trip. Such a fun time (crying kid included)!

It's all about paybacks...

This morning Rece was in his room getting dressed. Zach was still kind of asleep on the top bunk, when Rece decided it was too dark and flipped on the overhead light. Here's what happened next:

Zach: "My eyes! My eyes! Turn off the light!"

Rece: "It serves him right. He never apologized for waking me up."

Me: "When did he wake you up?"

Rece: "In January. You know. When I was in first grade!"

It just made me smile. So much for forgiveness.

Splish Splash!

Since summer is almost officially over I decided I better hurry up and post some more of our fun summer. These are all from our trip to the splash park with my good friend Jamie and her kids. The kids loved this! Beware...lots of pictures!

My Baby is Two!

Megyn turned two toward the end of July. She has endured a lot in the last two years. She began life as a very sick little girl and then endured occupational, physical, and (our favorite) helmet therapy. A little over a year ago, she wasn't even able to roll over by herself. Now she walks, runs, jumps and amazes us every day. We are proud of her and feel so blessed to have her in our family.

We celebrated with a family party at our house. It was a lot of fun!

These are pillowcases my grandma embroidered. All the girls in the family get these. Aren't they pretty?

It took her awhile to figure out it was okay to open the presents. But once she figured it out there was no stopping her.

Pink is Megyn's favorite color. I never used to like pink, but now I love it too! It's so fun to have another girl in the house.

I made an angel food cake and we turned it into strawberry shortcake. I love these pictures. She has no clue why we are shoving this cake in her face. We didn't even bother lighting the candles. Too windy.

Another First!

Yesterday was Zach's first day of preschool! He was only there for an hour and I got to stay with him. He seemed to really enjoy it. The only snag was an hour before we had to leave he threw a huge tantrum and told me that he didn't want to go to school, and didn't want to wear Rece's pants. He wasn't wearing Rece's pants, so I'm not sure what that was all about. I got him to settle down and by the time we had to leave he was excited again. He is so funny!

Meg hates not being in the picture, so I had to include her in at least one.

I kept saying to him, "Zach look at me!". He would say, "I am!". Not. I didn't get one picture before we left where he was looking at the camera. Crazy kid.

Again not looking at the camera. Can you see the bag over his shoulder? His teacher said no backpacks. He was so disappointed, and of course before I found this out I had promised him a new backpack. I hate when I can't keep my promises.

I love how the teacher has their complete attention. I wish I was better at that. She gave them all a stuffed animal to take on the tour of the classroom.

They had a few minutes to play. She has lots of really cool toys.

I'm super happy at how well he did on his first day. Things worked out really well, and two of my friends have kids in the same preschool so we are going to be able to carpool. That will significantly reduce the amount of time I spend in the car on the days he has preschool. I'm going to miss this little guy!
